In order to work with SSL and dot Defender on IIS 5.0 and IIS 5.1, the order of the ISAPI filters on the web server must be changed according to the instructions below.
Select the WWW Services in the Master Properties box and click Edit. In the WWW Service Master Properties box, select ISAPI Filters tab. Move up the two high-priority sspifilt and Compression ISAPI filters to the top of the list, so that they are executed before the dot Defender ISAPI filters. Select the ISAPI Filters tab in the Web Sites Properties box. Move up the three high-priority sspifilt, Compression, and md5filt ISAPI filters to the top of the list, so that they are executed before the dot Defender ISAPI filters. Instructions provided below are for the installation and configuration of Internet Information Services (IIS) with Servlet Exec ISAPI 5.0 using Java 2 SDK 5.0 Update 13 for Arc IMS 9.2 or 9.3 on Windows 2000/XP/2003.Specific information for the installation of Arc IMS is included with the product's Installation Guide.This installation requires the following: Familiarity with certain Windows tasks is required to install and configure Arc IMS.This cumulative security update includes every update released for Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0 and is discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS01-044.
This update addresses four new vulnerabilities: two security vulnerabilities that could enable a malicious user to temporarily disrupt the service of IIS 5.0; and two security vulnerabilities that could enable a malicious user to gain unauthorized privileges on your Web server.
